A Cross of thanks

In 1955, in gratitude to God for his life, Jure Fabijanić (born in 1922 in Sv. Vid – died in 2015 in Southold, NY) erected a Gratitude Cross in his hometown. Fabijanić participated in Operation Overlord, the codename for the Battle of Normandy at Omaha Beach. It is believed that only five soldiers from his platoon miraculously survived.
